Let’s Take a Breath

When we breathe

in unison

without uttering a

single word

we call a miracle

into being

When we breathe

we are simply

courageously saying

I am here and

I am with you.

In through the nose

and out through the mouth.

We breathe

repeating a simple mantra

again and again

with each cycle of air

Broadcasting a

vulnerable truth

from which all

intimate desires

evolve

When we breathe in unison

we are affirming

there is nowhere else

in the Universe

I would rather be

than with you.

Now

Please

Let there be sound

as we breathe together

An audible exhale,

air escaping lungs

or the soft passive

vibration of vocal chords

Listening

for your inhale

dear one

matching our exhale

Syncing breath

Syncing systems

Touching

with intention

and attention

and traveling air.

Breathing together

we dive slowly

From thoughts

and words

that separate us.

Into a sweet communion

with this precious

present moment

Held effortlessly

between us

Like divers sharing

breath from the

same tank of air.

we arrive safely

at the depths

and beauty

of one another

From there

we can go

anywhere

Our shared breathing

has opened my heart.

I can see you now

Even if we’ve only

just met.

But first

and always again

let’s take a breath

together.

In through the nose

and out through the mouth

uttering this simple quiet prayer.

I am here

and I am with you

there is no where else

in the Universe

I would rather be

than with you

here
